Scenes from a Potton homestead

This week our groups returned and our first order of business was treating our pig friends to a pumpkin feast!
The idea I had explained to the kids was that if we fed the pigs a little pumpkin, there would be a possibility of some seeds coming out in their droppings and thereby give us a chance to grow more pumpkins.. In the same breath, we entered the pasture our pigs had previously lived in and the kids managed to find 4 tomato plants that seemed to appear out of nowhere!?!
I couldn’t believe it!
The kids helped tend, feed and water the pigs and learned loads about our newest herd members; Dom and Lindsay.
We welcomed 2 new members (Karly and Ronin) and should double our group size next week.
More to come soon and thrilled to be back,
